 Heavy rains continue in kerala since the past three days. A red alert has also been sounded off for six districts of kerala, this is coming as the massive landslide that occurred in adobe district has so far killed nearly 50 people with 17 more bodies retrieved from the debris. Since friday  after the settlements of the state, workers were swept away by devastating landslides at iruki district's - perimoody rescue operations by NDRF fire and police department are continuing to recover bodies of more people.

People were trapped inside the landslide, 12 people were rescued 43 bodies were found meanwhile opening of shutters of dams across rivers have led to rise in water levels in rivers and streams in central kerala aggravating the flood situation.

The water levels have raised in the periare river due to the incessant rains that kerala has been getting over the past couple of days. The temple submerged in water and water has entered into the temple making it inaccessible right now ,the entire pathway to the temple covered in slush and beside the temple is located on the banks of the periyar river. The periyar river has overflown - the banks are submerged but people were not stopping rituals which is not really safe because you cannot predict the flow of the river at this point of time. People are going out into the river ,taking their holy bath and then coming back (it is very scary because the entire region is covered). The temple is submerged the temple authorities waiting for the water levels to go down so that they can begin the cleaning process.

Rescue operation in Kerala

Water level in pumbaa river is likely to rise by 40 centimeters as partner district administration is set to open six dam shutters by two feet to let out excess water. So that At least 300 families in the district have been moved to safer places by the rescue teams.
